Of Roses, Daisies and Black Eyed Susans... the Joys
of Flower Essences!
by Cathy Cartisano
Four years ago, I had never
heard of flower essences. Of course, four years ago, I did not talk
to angels, fairies, ETs and dead people either. It was at the urging
of one of my guides, Bridget, that I planted flowers and made my own
flower essences. She advised me what to plant, and what to call them.
Thus, Higher Ground Flower Essences were born. "Plant them and
they will come" she said. Never mind that I did not have a clue
what she was talking about, and that it would take hours of research
on my part. My guides are very humorous and matter of fact when it comes
to suggesting projects for me to do, they are quite pushy!!!
If you had
asked me four years ago what flower essences are, I would have said
they were like natural colognes or perfumes. I would have been wrong.
Flower essences
are a vibrational energy remedy. They have no fragrance other than whatever
liquid preservative is used in the dosage bottle.
All matter
vibrates at different speeds, different frequencies. The differences
in the frequencies of the various flowers are what make them especially
well suited to work with our etheric bodies, before any kind of dis-ease
manifests in our physical bodies. They are gentle enough to use on people
of all ages, including infants; and on plants and animals too, with
no side effects!
Modern day
enthusiasts will credit Dr. Edward Bach of England with discovering
flower essences. He was a traditional doctor who spent a lot of time
in nature, observing how being around different flowers, trees, and
shrubs made him feel differently. He started bottling flower remedies
and treating his patients with them, thus relinquishing traditional
therapies for alternative medicine. He eventually created a line of
flower essences called the Bach Flower Essences, possibly the most well
known being Bach Rescue Remedy.
Being the
starchild that I am, I am more intrigued by the Lemurian history of
flower essences. The land before Atlantis! The Lemurian being had merely
to be in close proximity to a flower to garner benefits. There was very
little dis-ease in Lemuria, so the use of flower essences was used more
for spiritual advancement than healing.
Most flower
essences are made in the sun. Not mine! I use the full moon as the optimum
time to create, because I have such an affinity with the moon. However,
the method is the same whichever light source you wish to use. I will
share with you how to make them, so you can make your own if you wish!
I am very
drawn to nature devas, so before I know I will be making a batch, I
go sit in my garden and talk to the flowers (or trees or shrubs) and
explain that I need their blossoms for a healing remedy later that night,
and ask them to consider volunteering to be used for this purpose.
When it
is time, I go back into the garden wtih clear glass bowls filled with
spring water. They should have no etchings on them, no patterns, for
that would effect the vibration of the spring water. Sometimes it is
obvious which flowers want to be used, they will bend and sway even
with no breeze. They are delighted to be of service! Each blossom is
cut with shears and dropped immediately into the water, without touching
any skin. The bowls are placed on the ground, or on a rock, never on
anything man made like cement or metal. The blossoms sit in the water
about 4 hours, or until I feel they are "set". This is a feeling
I have when the vibrational signature of the flower is imprinted into
the spring water. I then pick out the blooms with a twig, and replace
the bloom on the ground beside the plant that bore it. Back to Gaia
it goes, with immense gratitude. The spring water is then poured into
a large dark glass bottle ( a big beer bottle works great!), labelled
with the date and the flower used. This is known as a mother bottle,
and this is where the dosage bottles come from.
The choice
of preservatives is very important! For children, I use vegetable glycerin.
They love the sweet taste. Clients who must watch their sugar intake
get essences made with apple cider vinegar. It does not taste too great,
so they use it mainly in spray mister bottles, in bath water, and mixed
in with lotions applied to the skin. Of course, the brandy essences
are yummy!!!
Although
I abhor labels, I will use them now for recognition purposes only. With
the emergence, validation and acceptance of adults and children we call
Indigos, Crystals, Rainbows and Starkids, flower essences are becoming
more popular. Of course, they vibrate at as high frequencies as these
beings operate from! These essences vibrate at such a high frequency
that when an individual who is thought to "be" in one of these
"groups" takes essence orally, the effect is nearly immediate.
It gives me great joy to see a child take some "Starborn"
and get a big grin on their face, a look of knowing and recognition
of home. Many special ed teachers use essences in spray bottles in their
classrooms, as essences are extremely helpful for the crystal children
that so many people call autistic and assume are unreachable.
Doesn't
it make sense that Divine Source, Mother/Father God; the All that Is,
would create an aubundance of flora on Gaia that would be a 100% natural
source of assistance to the humans who walk the earth? Doesn't it make
sense that we use something gentle and natural to repair "issues"
in our subtle bodies before they trickle down and become part of our
physical self? If we have not released those "things" in our
lives that no longer serve our growth, such as an ill fitting job or
unsatisfying relationship, those "things" manifest in myriad
complaints of aches and pains and dis-ease. Flower essences are a very
gentle, effective, yet powerful way to calm and soothe our subtle bodies,
gently coaching our physical self to a place of harmony.
